Problems with mouse and PWB (HELP)

Hi,

I am having some problems with PWB and my mouse.  When I fire up
PWB in windows 3.1 the mouse doesn’t work.  I have to use the
keys to select menus and move around.  What a PAIN!!!

However, when I use PWB from the DOS 5.0 prompt the mouse works.
It is enough to drive you crazy.  I have a Z-NIX Super Mouse II.

Please be gentle with me, I am a Macintosh programmer and this is
my first experience in windows.  I am not use to having to edit
soooo many ini files.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello to all netters!

Are there ANY Windows software for COVOX Speech Thing?
May be something like COVOX.DRV?
If anything available, where it stored (FTP and directory name)?

Re: Win 3.1 Comm ports dead? (FIXED)

Well, you won’t believe what fixed my comm port problem.  I replaced
Comm.drv from windows 3.1 with the comm.drv from 3.0.  Tada!  No more
problem!  Who would’ve thought /that/ would work :)

ATI Ultra 800x600x265 Large Fonts driver

I think the subject line says it all.  The driver I obtained at Indiana
contained the 1024×768 large font driver but I find that mode a bit too small
and fuzzy.  Does anybody know where I can obtain this driver?

Windows Terminal Progam, Better one?

I am looking for a good Terminal program for Windows. (3.1, or 3.0).  I
have been simply shelling out to Telix, but this does not really take
advantage of the Multi-Tasking during File Transfers et al.

If someone could recommend a program, and perhaps where it could be FTP’d,
I would greatly appreciate it.  I would simply use the Defaut Terminal
with Windows, but there is no Zmodem, nor a phonebook….

Have to hit CapsLock twice in Win3.1?

Am I the only one having problems with CapsLock?  Or does anyone know how
to deal with it?  Or maybe there is a hidden reason behind this?

Screen Saver for both, DOS and Windows?

Does anyone know about a Screen Saver which works for both, DOS and Windows?
I’m looking for something what I can load in DOS and what will save my screen
regardless of whether I go into Windows or stay in DOS.  Also, I’m tired of
flying bananas or screens floating around, and something just blanking the
screen would be perfect.  Thanks for all help.

DOS prog synthesized speech & win31

I have noticed a problem with some DOS programs with synthesized speech running
from win31.  A case in point is a new program I downloaded for my brother’s
kids called "animated words".  The program works fine from DOS but is unuseable
as a DOS application from windows.  I have noticed this with other programs
too – usually preschool educational programs.  Since these programs are
designed for young children, the windows environment is a particularly good one
to launch them.  My question:  Is there any way of setting windows or some
DOS environment switch to get good sound produced from a win31 launch?

Thanks in advance

WANTED: Good drawing package for Windows

Can someone out there point me to a decent drawing package that will interface
with Microsoft Word ?  (and therefore replace their integrated drawing package
which is not good enough for our needs).  We need something that is similar to
MacDraw in functionality; but we don’t need a CorelDraw.  I have heard of
WinDraw – can someone tell me where to find this ?

XTREE NET and Windows 3.1

I’m having difficulty getting the network version of XTREE to run under
Windows 3.1. We have Novell 3.11, and I’m loading IPX ver. 3.10 and NETX ver
3.26 and my net.cfg reads as

                PREFERRED SERVER = FASECON
                file handles = 60
                show dots = on
get local target stacks = 3

Under Windows, I open a DOS window, run the batch file for Xtree
Net, it loads temporarily, then the error box appears that says "THIS
APPLICATION HAS VIOLATED SYSTEM INTEGRITY DUE TO AN INVALID GENERAL
PROTECTION FAULT AND WILL BE TERMINATED." All other utilities that we
run from teh server appear to work fine, except for this specific
application. Anyone have an idea of what I should be doing differently or
shoud try?
