I have posted the Voyetra V22 and V24s/V24sm drivers to
ftp.cica.indiana.edu, in the pub/pc/win3/uploads directory.
These are public domain, obtained from Voyetra’s BBS, and I know
for sure that the V24s/V24sm one works with Wincake.
If you cannot ftp, let me know and I will mail you a uuencoded
version.
cheers,
mike

If you change video modes often (say, going from 16 colors to 256
colors and back again), Write will bomb the graphics if you are
currently in a different mode now than when the graphic was
pasted in.
I’ve found that pasting graphics (of *any* bit depth) while I’m
in 256 color mode can’t be read by Write when it’s running in
16 color mode.
A strange phenomenon, to be sure. I’ve had to make sure I was
in the same graphics mode that my clients use when I’m creating
Write documentation (with graphics) that I expect them to read
later. Keeping your graphics modes consistent should alleviate
some of these problems.
I don’t know what’s causing the graphics to bomb on you
immediately *after* a paste, however. Whether it’s a bug or a
programming oversight, it’s definitely a problem with Word "3.1"

Does anyone know of a way to send binary files to a printer in Windows.
In DOS (or in a DOS box), you could type
COPY filename /b LPTx
But if you do this under windows, the printer takes over the CPU and
you can’t do anything until it finishes.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Will NT have the ability, by now old hat in the X world and even the
Macintosh world, of running several screens (monitors) as portals onto
a single display space, with the ability to e.g. slide a window off
one screen onto another?

Could any kind person send or post details on
how to get the Windows NT beta or development cdrom.
ie, how much was it and where can I send to get it.
The Microsoft people in Australia seem to know very little
about it and it would help if I had a US reference to it.
Many thanks for the help,
Regards

This may or may not be a simple/hard/stupid/etc., question but since I am not
intricately involved in Windows, here it is:
Is there a simple/standard way/program to extract iconic imagery from
executable programs and form .bmp files from them?
Because I don’t do a lot with Windows (there are other operating
systems/architectures available – but Windows does have a few nice
pictures…), I’m not sure whether the standard tools shipped with the package
can be fudged with enough to do this.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Amiga: The computer for the creative mind.
Mac: The computer for the rest of us.
Windows: For those on the outside looking in?
With 3.0, I could just click in a DOS app window and I would be in Select/Mark
mode… nice and quick. Under 3.1 it seems I must use the menu i.e. Edit/Mark.
In either case, I had to use the menu to Paste the text. I’d like to be wrong,
’cause it was easier with 3.0. What’s the story?
Bill
Is there some particular ftp site on which PC Magazine articles are likely
to show up first? I’m looking for a copy of the clipboard utility in the
latest issue.
