I need to find a decent calendar app. for Windows 3.1 that can handle
recurring events (like holidays). Does anyone know of such an application
at ftp.cica.indiana.edu?

There are currently two very good calendar implementation that are
shareware, both available on cica (ftp.cica.indiana.edu).
One is almanac ver 3.0, which is in the uploads directory
cd pub/pc/win3/uploads
and is called something like alm30.zip
The other is activelife version 1.5, and is, I believe, in the utils
directory, but after the recent rearrangement, I am no longer sure.
Both handle recurring events extremely well. Active life has an
automatic scheduling feature that is neat, but its
visual appearence is not so great. Rescheduling and moving around are
good, but viewing things in week/month view are very poor/nonexistent.
Almnac does cute things like tell you what phase of the moon it is. It
has a nice visual appearance, but is not as strong at handling
schedules and rescheduling things.
I suggest you ftp both and try both.

The best calendar program that I have seen is OnTime for Windows
by Campbell services. This is an off the shelf product that
handles recurring events extremely well. It also has
great network support. All in all, it is a very
complete package.
