cleaning up files

I would like to know how can you tell which files in your c drive or
windows folders can be deleted.  I have folders that have to be opened
with a program can these be deleted.  There are also some that open with
different zig zag numbers and letters in them . I dont know what these are
but Im afraid to delete.  How can you know which to save and which not to
save.  Thank You

Check out files having extensions .tmp, .gid, and .bak. These file types are
normally safe to delete. Do not delete executables files as these r program
files. There are lots of utilities you can find in the net that do
specifically do this stuff. For a start try sysmechanic or cybermedia
uninstaller. These apps have smart wizards that guide you in the file
    cleaning process.
