Hello!

I try to backup a W2K server with NT Backup on its internal DLT drive. I
scheduled a job to run every night, and I want it to override the DLT that
is in the drive, no matter if it’s empty or not.

NTBackup tells me that there is no empty media to perform the backup. I
looked in the manuals, but I could not find a switch to force the override.
If I do the job manually it asks me if the media should be overwridden, if I
say "yes" it works. But I need the job to run automatic.

Has someone experiences with this? Please reply also to my eMail.

> I’m trying to find a misplaced file that has "HTML" in the subject
> line.

> But if I use the Windows 95 "Find" utility from the "Start" menu, it
> turns up every file on my HD with an extenstion of .html and so the
> file I’m looking for ends up buried in an endless list of .html files.

> How can I search for a file that has "HTML" in the filename, but
> exclude all files with the extension ".html"?

When you print to file, you are saving all the printer codes that would have
been sent to the printer. These codes are printer specific. No program actually
reads these codes. Rather, they are read by the printer.

This is not a really useful thing for your own computer. The neat thing that I
use it for is to print out a document I create on a printer that is not
physically attached to my computer. I have the printer driver for the printer I
will use installed, and it defaults to file, rather than a printer port. So if
I want to print my document on the other printer, I select that printer driver,
and print to file. Then I take the file to the other computer, and print it
out.

In DOS, you can type:
copy filename.prn lpt1: /b

This will send the file to the printer to be printed.

Note that the printer that you send it to must be the same as the driver that
was used to create the .prn file. Otherwise, you’ll probably end up with a
bunch of odd-ball characters.

I created a shortcut for the above DOS command. I then associated .prn files
with the shortcut. Now I can just double-click on .prn files to print them.

- — -

> Printing a document "to file" saves the file with a .prn extension.
> What program is required to read or print this file?
> Thanks in advance.
